Gospel Orchestrated

A national songwriting and performance opportunity for gospel artists, songwriters, worship leaders, producers and groups across the UK

In October 2026, Brixton Chamber Orchestra will present Gospel Orchestrated at Streatham Hill Theatre, hosted by Ruach City Church. As part of the project, we are looking for eight original gospel songs to be developed, arranged for orchestra and performed as part of the live event.

This competition is designed to celebrate the depth, diversity and future of UK gospel music: from church traditions and choir-led worship to contemporary gospel, Pentecostal praise, Afro-gospel, soul, choral writing, classical influences and new forms of gospel expression.

We are looking for original songs rooted in gospel music. Songs should have a strong musical identity, a clear message and the potential to be lifted through orchestral arrangement. We are especially interested in songs with emotional, spiritual or communal resonance: music that speaks to faith, hope, testimony, praise, struggle, healing, joy, justice, worship or transformation.
