Spring Concert: Vif et Languissant

Join us for a free concert as BCO brings the lively and languid sounds of French late-Romantic and modern music to Brixton Recreation Centre’s 3G Football Pitch.

This year’s programme celebrates the works of Massenet, Saint-Saëns, and Ravel, performed by our 37-piece orchestra. We are thrilled to welcome renowned violinist Levon Chilingirian and Herne Hill local, who will guest-lead the concert and perform Massenet’s Méditation from Thaïs.

We’ll be holding an open rehearsal on the day at the 3G football pitch from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Come and watch as the orchestra prepares for the evening concert. This is a rare chance to see the music come together in real time. To help our musicians focus, we kindly ask for silence during the rehearsal.

Free entry to the rehearsal - no ticket required, just drop by.

Seating is limited for the performance, so please book a standing place if possible. The astroturf is comfortable for sitting, especially with a picnic blanket, and you’re welcome to bring a chair (as long as it has non-spiky legs!).
